Description
A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. Project Location: Springfield, Ohio 45503 Project Description: The elevator at C.J. Brown Dam and Reservoir is original to the project and requires modernization due to obsolete components. The contractor will provide all tools, materials, equipment, and labor to remove and replace the control tower elevator’s electrical and mechanical components with modern, non-proprietary parts serviceable by any independent elevator company. All new components must be compatible with the existing cab, rails, and utilities. Onsite Elevator Information (Existing Specifications) Machine: OTIS 22CT Drive Sheave 30” Elevator Motor: 7.5 HP Voltage: 208V, 3 phase, 60 cycles, 3 wires Speed Governor: Type R, Trip Speed 175 F.P.M., Traction Steel 8x19x3/8” Cable solid corrosion resistant material Control: Single automatic push button from car and floors. Capacity: 1200 LBS. Speed: 100 F.P.M. Travel: 50’ From 1st Floor to 4th Floor. Hoisting Cables: 3-1/2 8X19 Traction Steel Landings: -4- Openings: -4- Signal: Alarm Bell in car sounds when Emergency Stop button depressed. “In Use” light in floor control stations. Car Enclosure: Manual, 2-piece solid door that slides. Hatch Enclosures: Removable Entrance Frames: Steel frames with steel sills Car Guide Rails: #2 – 8lb Counterweight Guide Rails: #2 – 8lb Note: All measurements and components will be verified by the contractor prior to installation. All new components will be compatible with the present car and rails associated with the elevator. LINE ITEM 0001: Elevator Mechanical and Electrical Modernization Machinery Room: Replace controller with an industry-standard, non-proprietary microprocessor controller in a temperature-controlled, NEMA 4 rated enclosure, equipped with emergency power provisions. Replace hoist machine and motor. Replace governor, governor cables, and tail sheave. Replace Rope Gripper and mounting. Replace hoist cables and shackles. Car: Retain existing cab structure and replace all operating components. Install a new, code-compliant car operating panel with vandal-resistant, #4 stainless steel fixtures and a monitored phone. Install a new car top inspection station with GFCI and light, and a code-compliant safety rail. Retain manual door operation. Replace car door rollers, guides, restrictors, gibs, and Z brackets. Replace car lantern. Replace all associated wiring on the elevator car. Hall Fixtures & Hoistway: Replace hall position indicators and push-button stations with vandal-resistant, #4 stainless steel fixtures. Replace hall door rollers, guides, hangers, and door closers. Replace top and bottom access switches. Replace hoistway limit switches, traveling cable, and hoistway cable. Install new buffers, roller guides, and safety device. Replace the hoistway pit float switch and all associated operating components. LINE ITEM 0002: Inspection, Testing, and Project Deliverables Perform and document final inspection and load testing (1,200 lbs.) per ASME standards in the presence of Government personnel. Correct any identified deficiencies at no additional cost and recertify the elevator to ASME A17 standards. Submit catalog cut sheets for all new parts and equipment for Government review prior to installation. Provide two copies of maintenance/operation manuals and a complete bill of materials for all installed equipment. Provide on-site instruction for Government maintenance personnel on the inspection and maintenance of new equipment.
