Automated Fiber Placement Thermoplastic Processing Head

Naval Air Weapons Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) China Lake awarded a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order to procure a Thermoplastic Fiber Placement (TPFP) Head. This effort will provide a TPFP Head fully compatible with a currently installed Trelleborg XTS-400 AFP system and interchangeable with the currently configured thermoset processing head. The TPFP head will enable the fabrication of composite parts having TP resins, adding to current capability to process thermoset resins. Purchase Order N6893626P5430 was awarded 29 September 2026 from Solicitation N6893626Q5144. The award was procured on a sole source basis to Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Albany, Inc, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.103-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. One CLIN was added for commercial financing purposes only. As required by FAR 6.301, the redacted J&A is hereby posted for the aforementioned contract award.
