NRCS- National Water and Climate Center (NWCC) SCAN Maintenance

The Contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, supplies, materials, and incidentals necessary to provide 2027 Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) maintenance services for the NRCS-National Water and Climate Center (NWCC) as described below and in accordance with the work statement attached to and hereby made a part of this solicitation. The Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) began as a soil moisture/soil temperature pilot project of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in 1991 to provide data in support of natural resource assessments and conservation activities. SCAN operates a comprehensive, nationwide soil moisture and climate information network, focused on agricultural areas, with over 200 stations providing data in near real-time. SCAN stations collect hourly information on soil moisture content and soil temperature at standard depths (2, 4, 8, 20, and 40 inches), air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, wind speed/direction, and liquid precipitation.
